Sneak Peek

I thought I’d give a little sneak peek to Tanner’s first birthday party tomorrow! The theme is “Little Monsters” and will be held at the pool at my mom’s house.  Will post pictures tomorrow of the big day!

Tanner's First Birthday CenterpiecesHere are the centerpieces for the tables.  I got this idea from my baby shower last March – pictures on sticks in buckets of sand! We added monsters on sticks to go with the theme.

Tanner's First Birthday SignThis sign is going to go outside of the pool to welcome all of our monster guests!  I love googly eyes, as you can tell.

Maybelline Baby Lips

Close Up

One of my all time favorite lip products is the Maybelline New York Baby Lips Lip Balm.  They go on so smooth and give your lips a pop of color.  The one on the left (in the top picture, sorry I switched them for the second picture) is in #25 “Pink Punch” and the one on the right is in #05 “Quenched” (which is also SPF 20).  I use these every single day and they have made my lips smoother over time.  I’d post a picture of what it looks like on but it is totally unlike me to take a close up of my lips so you’re just gonna have to trust me on this one!  I am going to purchase the other colors very soon…!

Throw Back Thursday

Honoring the ever popular “Throw Back Thursday,” most commonly used as #tbt, I took a photo of a couple of pictures of my siblings and I when we were young.  We have always been extremely close and had so many adventures together.  I am one day late for National Siblings Day, but here’s to the best siblings anyone could ever ask for!

Throw Back Thursday

The photo on the left is of my sister (in blue/white soccer uniform) and myself (in pink soccer uniform) at my mom’s house.  Not sure if this was taken before or after our games.  The photo on the right is of my sister, brother and myself on the North Shore of Oahu.  My grandparents used to own a condo at Turtle Bay and we would try and stay there at least once a year.

Wee Sing in the Big Rock Candy Mountains

Alas, my mom gets the grandma of the year award (well, in this case it would be “Maymay of the year award”)! She bought Tanner one of my all time favorite movies when I was young – Wee Sing in the Big Rock Candy Mountains!  Not only is it appealing because of the big fluffy bunnies and bear-like animals, but it also includes life lessons such as friendships and recycling.  I can’t wait to show Tanner!

Pool Day!

I took Tanner to the pool yesterday and was able to “dunk” him under the water twice without him crying! An accomplishment for the both of us.  About 20 minutes into our pool day, Tanner fell asleep and I was able to get a tan…well, a sunburn, but a tan will [hopefully] be coming soon!

Keeping this post short – off to build a Duplo “beach” with Tanner! Crossing my fingers I can snag a picture of it before he demolishes it…

We’re going to the zoo today, we’re going to the zoo!

I failed to post anything this entire weekend and I apologize! Today I will have a bunch of posts, starting with our zoo adventure this past Saturday!  My mom, brother, good friend of mine, Tanner and I went to the Honolulu Zoo in Waikiki.  Tanner found more interest in the plants and pigeons than the zoo animals themselves, but it was nice to take him to the zoo and look at the new exhibits.  I haven’t gone to the zoo in years and it brought back wonderful memories 🙂

Tanner at the Zoo

Instead of being in awe by these magnificent creatures, Tanner was amazed by a tiny bird drinking from the waterfall (that I failed to capture in the photo).  Oh well, at least I know he has a keen eye for detail!

Mia, Tanner & Miku at the zoo

Tanner was so exhausted from all that strolling that he fell asleep half way through the zoo! Oh well, at least I was able to say “hi” to the growling tiger!

On the move…

Alas, today marks my last day here in beautiful Kailua Kona.  Tanner and I will be continuing our adventure on the island of Oahu…at least we will still be in Hawaii! My posts for the next couple of weeks may be sporadic due to the move but I will try very hard to post at least once per day.  Tomorrow we will be going to the Honolulu Zoo so I should have lots of pictures to post for you!

Clarisonic Mia

I am totally obsessed with my Clarisonic Mia.  It had my name written all over it (literally) so my mom just had to give it to me. I am always up to trying new things, and I am so glad I tried this; it’s like having a facial every single day! I can feel it cleaning my pores and I always feel rejuvenated after using it.  If you have been debating on buying one (they are pretty pricey) then you are thinking way too much – GET IT!!!

Clarisonic Mia

What’s really cool about this is that there is no plug in the actual Clarisonic device to plug a charger into (which gets pretty sketchy when dealing with water).  The charger magnetically attaches to the handle below the power button and it charges very quickly! Technology never ceases to amaze me.
